I looked for my player on this site where all the images are posted, and found the same one (all be it a different colour). This led me to http://www.mympxplayer.org/glacier-repair-toolkit-revc-df621.html
This download includes loads of firmware (operating system software versions or .bin files) for glacier type mp4's and instructions on how to reboot the player if it is locked up.
Try them all with your upgrade utilities that came with the mp4, until you get ones that load ok then make sure you get the one out of these that starts the player into the correct start up screen!
PS Although the computer may not recognise it the upgrade tool probably will and say that the mp4 is in boot up state or something similar. (Prob no need to do the chip shorting bit unless you have no luck.) My player was a chinese 8gb (will prob only format to 2gb if it's the same Glacier type as mine).
Some flashes that seem to load ok allowed the player to play audios and not video. I tried a different one that also loaded and allowed me to boot to menus and this one played both, hurray. (This was the one that gave me the same welcome message on boot up as it originally had!)

I then set about using an amv converter recomended from this site and experimented with all sizes and frame rates and video settings. Mine would only play frame rates of 10 (12 and 15 would cause errors independent of resolution or picture dimensions!)

Can u please provide the firmware details of the firmware u referred in your post (a clown Juggling and "Welcome" in multicoloured letters). it had the exact same main menu as displayed on top page of dead player recovery tool kit. I have the same player (now dead) but no firmware available here or on s1mp3.org seem to be working....

Hi,
Mine is the same player only in white. I had a little red clothed soldier and “Welcome” in multicoloured letters as the start up screen when it worked originally. The firmware that put it back and made the mp4 work again was 9.0.50_7.bin. Found in this download from this site.

you will need the 7-zip tool (free) to unzip the downloaded file…(just do a google for it).

Hi! I am totally new to all of this. I don't think that this is the same problem, but I think I have the same player as all of you. I downloaded the repair kit thing from this site, but it seems to so extreme! In any case, my player turns on, but just stays on the hourglass indefinitely. Any ideas? Do I need to open it up and short out circuits and such? Thanks!

i have the same mp4 player(galcier like 1gb). i solved the hourglass and black screen problem with a firmware.
my player is:

by the way i used mp3 player product tool 5.12 as a upgrade program. first i tried the lisong firmware. than the compter recognized the player as a storage device but still black screen. after that i tried the correct firmware, black screen gone. now the player works without any problem.

please, send me the firmware and mp3 tool 5.12
