rejaul2005, Have you got the sleep setting set on your player so the LCD turns off when not in use to conserve power. To do this you need to go to Settings>LCD set>Darkle or Black and set the slider to 0 - 30 seconds then press play to accept the setting.
The other thing I have heard but as yet can not verify as I just started testing today is adjusting the battery type in your firmware.
In your firmware there are 3 battery type options
1) 1.5v Alkaline battery
2)1.2v NiH battery
3)3.7v Li-Polymer battery
The claim is if your firmware is set to 3.7v Li-polymer if you change it to 1.5v Alkaline battery it will increase your play time by a couple of hours.
To find out your setting you need to extract your firmware using s1fwx and repair it. Then running the list.bat will open a command window and list all the attributes and files in your dump.bin. Near the top you will find your battery information. If it is at the 3.7v setting you can change it with Firmware Modifier save the setting then reload the firmware back to your player.
s1fwx can be downloaded from HERE
There is a guide to using it HERE
Firmware Modifyer HERE
When I finish testing I will let you know.

XTransbus, I have replaced a 230mAh Lithium Polymer battery that gave me about 7 Hours continuous music play with a 400mAh Lithium Polymer battery which extended the play time to 11 hours continuous music play. I had to remove the speaker to allow for the slightly larger battery but never used it anyway.

Guest, From a model shop. Lithium Polymer batteries are good for remote controlled planes etc because of their power to weight ratio.

eternboy, I paid $22.00 NZD and a 530mAh was $29.95 NZD but it was a fraction to big.

The battery settings trick doesn't work on all players.
I have tried alot of them (while I was repairing them) and only a few of them would actually work. The reason why it's usually a combination of things.
1. Firmware settings
2. The board layout. Meaning.. The actual layout of the PCB has to contain a few extra parts what works in conjuction with the ATJ or AKA chip.
These chips has extra pins connected on the board to determine if the given unit is actually using the type of battery.
Some of the boards are having these parts, some aren't.
For example the ATJ2085 has 2 pins the BATSEL and the DCDIS pins which are determining the actual types of batteries being used in conjuction with the USB.
Sorry for the improper english description here but I'm trying to keep it as layman as I can.
For proper technical details, pls refer to the ATJ2085 pdf file I have uploaded to this site in the Downloads section.

cheers
p.s. If you want more play time just set the player to turn off the EL backlight in the Sys Setup/LCD Set/Blck, Set it to 5 and it will shut of the backlight in 5sec. If you leave it on 0 (default) it will not turn off yer backlight. Darkle is to set it to halfbright. It actually don't work on the lot of players. To conserve battery or like Tadad sez just stick in a bigger Lithium as big as you can fit or stick a really big, flat Lithium on the back of the player. lol Razz
Anyways, good luck hehehe.

yes it does work. just make sure you have the usb to usb extention cord with it. make sure you ask for one.
as another solution you could buy a bigger lithium battery like a 3.7V 2500mA and velcro it on the back of the player.
it will add a bit of extra weight, but you will get about a week worth of play time out of it.
