Boy... sure wish I had found this site earlier.....
I have a Coby MPC815-16G (see http://cobyusa.com/files/hi_res/MP815_HR.jpg
Every few days, it stops working completely. I try to turn it on and nothing happens. The screen remains totally blank.
If I plug it in to my PC, instead of the screen showing the message:
... I get nothing on the screen at all. However, my PC recognizes the device as an external hard drive. But it is supposed
to be recognized as an MTP device.
Anyway, the only fix I've been able to find is to reformat the drive and start all over.
I've been glancing through the forums... would a firmware upgrade help? Anyone have other ideas? The current System Information is:
Total Space: 15.692GB
There is also a "hidden" folder named SYSTEM
with the following files:
