nanocopyuser, we recommend UXCell not because they pay us but because we know that they sell what they promise and also because they sponsor the lucky draws and discount coupons which are meant to help members like you.

we cant just allow anyone to come in and post a link to their website as we do not know if their products are for real. we dont want our members cheated.

We don't get paid from UXcell. They help sponsor the site with prizes and discounts to members. The reason why we choose UXcell was because of many good feedback we've heard from our members from the beginning. MyMPxPlayer.org doesn't get any direct payment from them.

We have to be careful in who we take on as a sponsor. Members use this site as a good resource for their players. However, some too use it as a 'guide' and we can't go around promoting or recommending any 'run of the mill', 'average joe' sellers on here. If we did, we'll get every man and his dog as well as all the eBay sellers spamming the site.

The site has remained 'clean'. Spam, inappropriate post sas well as advertising posts has been scanned and dealt with appropriately.

Posting to our site is restricted to registered members as well as we had flood of spam from the beginning.

All this has kept the site clean from spamming, giving you, our members a site that is helpful and rich in content.

so you mean... you don't get 'paid' by uxcell, but you are open to being paid by other advertizers?
As per tdad1's suggestion, I did send an email to the admin about running a banner.. but didn't get a reply yet.

You should try adding on a few more sponsors / advertizers. I am sure there are others in this world besides UXCELL who are not 'run of the mill average joes'. I am sure you have come across several!

Right now, it looks too one sided. Almost as if mympxplayer.org is owned by uxcell !!

we dont take money from UXCell because they sponsor our lucky draws and also give regular discount coupons. i wonder how many of other advertisers would be willing to do that. they would rather pay than doing draws and dicount coupons regularly.

if there are other advertisers who think what they sell is fair, they should have contacted the admin by now for putting their banners on the website.

as far as your case is concerned, something must have been wrong which is why the admin might not have replied.

i think the admin will be a better person to answer you on that.

Yes, it does seem 'biased' towards UXcell, I agree. But they way I look at it, UXcell has been good to us, sell a great range, good price and ship internationally. They also provide members with discount coupons and give away free products for our Lucky Dip Draw.

We're happy with them and so haven't really had the need to seek more sponsors. Also, I'm being cautious in how UXcell would feel if we do seek more MP3/MP4 suppliers and advertisers on this site as they have done us well.

You guys have all brought up good comments and this site wouldn't have been so successful without the comments and feedback from it's members.

WE WELCOME all comments and suggestions. We just don't welcome careless spamming that's all .

I'll definately have a look into this. Maybe it's time to seek some more advertisers to 'balance' it more and give members some choice? But then again, everyone is free to do a Google search on MP3 suppliers, or online MP3 sellers and buy from anyone they want.

We are in now way saying "all members HAVE to buy from UXcell". Everyone is free to buy and choose who they buy from. It just happens that UXcell has been very good to us, a good seller and has done everything right for us to support us and our members.

They are also willing to take a thrashing by opening a forum specific for UXcell so buyers can comment on this site.

Remember also that there is HouseofDap.com who is also another sponsor. Not as much in the spot light here as UXcell is, but that will change shortly as we are going to start a promotion with them shortly for our members.....

This site has changed a lot since it first started. New features, addons, forum sections, sponsors and advertisers appeared because of the opinions and suggestions by you, our members.

I believe in having a site that 'evolves' and 'grows' with it's members. This is very important for the success of this site and I believe is one of the reasons why this site has been so successful.

In my opinion, i like this forum because of the personalities in here and as well as low to zero rate of spamming.

I certainly do not wish to see a spam message in every thread. Perhaps yes and as Binh had mentioned, the forum probably is a little biased to UXcell, but they are still one of the forum's sponsers afterall.

The fact that Binh has kept the forum to just 2 sponsers (UXcell & House of DAP) probably is just to cover the high running costs of the forum. Which in the past hit the ceiling due to high bandwidth usage. And subsequently the site went offline for a few weeks.
Much as nobody wants to know or be reminded about all these details, i feel that the newer users needs to know about this past. At least the current sponsers has been helping Binh with the running costs in some way or another.

The reason i feel that Binh has rejected other sponsers is perhaps that maybe UXcell & HouseOfDAP would be long term sponsers. This would ensure the forum would be up and running for as long as possible.

If more sponsers were added to the forum, UXcell or HouseOfDAP might just pull out due to lower publicity. And nobody knows if the new sponsers would be here long term or just for 1-2months. Who will cover the running costs when all the sponsers are gone?

Being a "neutral & open public forum", you still need to pay to upkeep the forum. We're not required to pay to be a registered user or to download.
A little exchange in being slightly biased and not very public forum, is what keeps this forum up and running.

Nothing is free in this world, even Yahoo Mail and Geocities contains advertisements. And you can't control what they advertise, unless you pay.
