Well I screwed up my player.

Video playback was screwy so I figured I would give the firmware upgrade a shot. Tried it and since then it has only been starting as a black screen. I tried to fix it but eventually the thing stopped showing up as usb storage so I couldnt reload it anymore (just before it did it was showing up as two removeavle drives for some reason).

I tried the fix with the opening of the player and the contacting of the chip, but it only worked to load new firmware on it the first time. Since then I cant get it to show up as a new device anymore to get the firmware on there.

Right now I just wana get a good idea of the firmware I need so I can try it again. Its a MP4, 1.5 inch screen, 8gb. Here are some pics

Please help T_T

harmony, Some players come with a copy of the firmware on the mini cd but this is quite rare. Out of my 6 players only one has come with firmware.

If it is there it will be a .bin or .fw file.

No fw files

A few bins, but the paths were
F:\ENGLISH\The Windows98USB drive
F:\ENGLISH\The telephone is originally the tool
F:\中文\MP3电话本工具\电话本工具2

Any idea what firmware would be right?

Still nothing on the screen, any ideas on what to do?

I have a player looks exactly the same as this one (From a Hong Kong guy via eBay). It was sold as a 4GB player, but it's actually a 2GB player. I think the one you have is also hackered.
I trid to update the firmware without backup, I failed, the player is dead now. I know all the procedures to repair the firmware, but I can't find the correct version. I remember its original version is 3.5.37. I trid all the 3.5.37 version firmwares download from this website, but none of them worked. (Each time I trid a full 3.5.37 version then another selected firmware).

If you have the same player can you please extract the firmware and email to me at fangjun@gmail.com

I really appreciate your kind help.

This is my problem:

my player shoulb be of 1g

but I´ve never been able to charge that amount of data.
at the beggining It appear on the computer as two different disks, I loaded the files in the one I could enter, cause the other one was with no format.
Half of the files I loaded worked right but when I tried to play the other half the player rebooted itself.
"how misterious!" I thought
then I started to delete those files that were corrupted (at least that`s what I thought!) but I could not.
How strange! I thought that time.
Suddenly without advice windows let me delete the files and I left the player empty.
I load songs again.
And something even stranger happened in one folder (the "record" one used to save the things you tape with the player) were all the songs again and again and again, it´s hard to explain, but I thought, IT MUST BE A VIRUS! EUREKA! so I decided to format the drive ... now the displays says that my memory is of 474 MB
Is it hacked? or I did something wrong?
when I use the encrypting tool it says that the memory is of 474 MB too
but before it said that it was of 969.780 MB (something like that)
anyway it´s a crap, can anybody tell me if this testdisk can help me?

to be honest this player is quite a headache

Is it a firmware problem or a hip problem?
