i've tried recoverying it but am stucked somewhere can you help me pass that level cos it really disturbing i mean that Install From Disk place cos i can't recognize it,in details:
it made a boo bee sound and my computer recognized it as a usb device on the system tray but i couldn't recognize it as a drive on "My Computer",i've tried the procedures for recovering it but the place that is dragging behind is how to install the adfuupdate.inf file,i can't pass that INSTALL FROM DISK dialogue box it keeps on asking me to insert the manufacturer's disk and then make sure that the correct drive is selected below under that it asked me to copy the manufacturer's files from:C,D,or E when i selected one of them it keeps displaying "the specified location does not contain the information about your hardware" ,OR is there any other way i can install the adfuupdate.inf something?

Find the location of your ADFU driver and select the .INF file.

Man,
if your player is recognised (What exactly is it recognised as?), you should be able to upgrade your firmware... You dont need to be recognised as a DISK to start uploading new fws.

LEmme know, then i can help u more

Confused I can only recognize it as USB Device under Other Devices(Device Manager) when i try to install it(i.e i mean device signing),i can't pass that stage where it will ask for the destination drive, what i mean is that i've tried the procedures for recovering it but the place that is dragging behind is how to install the adfuupdate.inf file,i can't pass that INSTALL FROM DISK dialogue box it keeps on asking me to insert the manufacturer's disk and then make sure that the correct drive is selected below under that it asked me to copy the manufacturer's files from:C,D,or E when i selected one of them it keeps displaying "THE SPECIFIED LOCATION DOES NOT CONTAIN THE INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR HARDWARE" ,OR is there any other way i can install the adfuupdate.inf something? B/4 i did the upgrading i extracted some info

Device Name: XINTAI MP3 Player
Productor: Wilson Co. Ltd.
Version: 9.1.52 - I assume this is a firmware,

Then i've unscrewed it and found this information:
On the Display: FPC888101C-V0.0
TM-15032 XA0750
On the PCB: TM-15032 BOCO
**2008*02*18VER:A**

I Read this from a thread that i should
"Make sure to look at your driver file AdfuUpdate.inf and see if your VID and PID reflect your unit if not just change it to the correct one of your unit and save it (use Notepad)

usually the one you need to change is PID and look as: ff51 or ff66 etc...and that is the one you change.

VID is usually 10d6

Do not change any thing but this...you need to do that on the top and at the end
".
Then when i checked the Device Properties i saw this

Device Instance Id
USB\VID_10D6&PID_FF79\5&1BBE8508&0&8

Hardware Ids
USBVID_10D6&PID_FF79&REV_0100
USB\VID_10D6&PID_FF79*

I don't know how to change it and Do you think it's neccessary for me to change it,if yes i should change it to what?

Also,i have the MP3 Player Utilities V.4.09 do you think it's b/cos of this version of the Mp3 Utilities that doesn't allow me to view it as an ADFU Device 2.0?

Ok man,

1. About ADFU: Copy AdfuUpdate.inf somewhere as a backup and then change it as u say. Honestly I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE HELL IT DOES, but if you believe it, u can try it. But make a BACKUP. As you say in your instruction i would do:
Device Instance Id
USB\VID_10D6&PID_FF66\5&1BBE8508&0&8

Hardware Ids
USBVID_10D6&PID_FF66&REV_0100
USB\VID_10D6&PID_FF66*

I really know nothing about this, so i am sorry Wink

2.Mp4 Uttilities
Tell me ! Are you able to upload firmware by your utilities ? What exactly it says when u try it ?
Also you can try the Product tool Uttilities 4.19 found here:
http://s1mp3.org/files/3rdpary_software/Product_Toolsv4.19.7z

Good luck

Hello Groovy,
For Now my MP4 Player has shown some signs of hope,i changed the PID number on the adfu.inf driver stuff to reflect my MP4 Players own which was PID_FF79 Instead of PID_FF61,finally it has recognized and installed the adfu driver,
There's something i didn't tell you about my MP4 Player when i did the recovery procedure,my MP4 Player didn't show the blue screen and the hour glass stuff like other people's own in this forum, even when i on and off it,do you think that's normal or is there something wrong? iF NOTHING'S WRONG WHAT NEXT CAN I DO?
Second question, what do i use to extract the product tools u attached on this post?
Which mp3 Utilities can i use? Man i seems am asking a lot of question am very nervous right now, ppplllllllllllzzzzzzzzz understandddd

hello the singatures of drivers u can set in the settings in : My coputer - right click - properities - Hardware - Signatures

.7z is the file wich could be extracted with WinRar or any other 7z extractor (look for google) it is like zip.

The blue screen you get it ussualy after you install the FULL firmware and you can recognise your palyer as a DRIVE, but anyways it is not necessery, so dont be much stressed about it.

What next? Follow the dead player recovery guide -> find and insta 1. full firmware 2. dump !

Uttilities ? USe the ones i sent you -> Product tool 4.19 or check the download section for the classic ones.

hope i help... gl
