This is the "Sigmatel Firmware Extractor".
I haven't tested this myself nor do I have instructions on how to use it. If anyone can use it and write up some instructions, that would be great.
Please use at own risk. Let me know if this can extract the firmware of your Sigmatel board players.

Hi,
I have used that and it works perfectly.
I used that to DUMP a Firmware from a working Sigmatel Chip MP3 Player and i put that on a non-working (DEAD) Player of the same model.
And it worked perfectly.
It's simple to use: just execute it with the player conectedand the program will ask for a FOLDER where it will put the extracted Firmware files.

Worked like a charm. It gave a few warnings but made a successful backup which saved my player after a flash with wrong firmware.  |
