Hello there. I am glad I found out this site and I must say I have a lot to learn.

First of all let me introduce myself. So I am Christos and I am from Greece.
A few days ago I have a 4 GB nano like mp4 player named as «Με2» shipped from an ebay user for 47$.

My first contact with it impressed me but as the time passed I was having a headache. Lol

Anyway. Here are my problems:
1) transferring from the computer to mp4 player is very slow. Despite the fact it says it is usb 2.0 it acts like a usb device. It took me 20 hour to copy 2 GBs.

2) when I listen to music the equalizer is also slow. It like it’s ram memory is too little. It also takes time to switch from one track to another

3) I can’t anything else when I listen to music or watching a video. For instance play a game or read a text like the genuine ipod do

4) The battery lasts only for 3 and a half hours.

What do you have to say for the aboves? Do you meet the same problem or is it common with these clones of ipods?

And now my questions.
1) Do you know if there is an upgrade for my mp4 player? In the sys menu it says that my existed firmware is this
TJC_9112_20
2007-03-01
9.0.50
2005-01-09
2) What battery do I need to replace the existed?
3) What I have to do to put new themes in it?

Lastly I happy to say that I didn’t got a hacked mp4 player. I did the steps on the site and I found out that my mp4 memory is really 4gb. :>
and finally 2 pics of my mp4 player

hehe. doing some subjunctive exercises because i am having english exams for proficiency this Saturday. i hope my english are ok. lol

Well that’s all. Thanks for your time. Be good.

I was going to suggest your player is hacked, becase 20hrs to transfer 2GB is NOT normal, even at USB 1.0 speeds. (I assume you followed directions to the letter, and did 2 low level formats, encrypted and unencrypted). 3.5hr battery life is normal for this player, though. You'd need to open it up and measure the space the battery takes, then find a seller on eBay selling an ipod battery at 400mah (japanese cells) that's the same size. You cant upgrade the firmware yet, so don't try. These chipods do not multitask so thats normal you cant do other things at the same time. Its not an ipod. They can be a little slow too, but I dont know if yours is slower than normal because its a 4gb.

thanks for the quick answer and for the information you provided. also some other question.
what kind of hack do you mean? there is no memory hack, so what else could be hacked? also
1)how i will open the mp4 player because i don't a clue
2)despite the fact i can't upgrade can i put new themes in?is there a how to... because also don't have a clue how to do it
3)because i listen to greek music sometimes and the id3 is in greek language and my mp3 player doesn't support greek is there anywhere a greek plugin to add it to my mp3 player?

thanks man

djkokalis , for your questions

1) Your player is the newer gen2 clones, so look at the both ends of the player where the on/off switch is and usb socket is. You'll need to pry open the white cover/plastic. Once done, you should be able to see a screw hidden below the cover/plastic. Unscrewing it should allow you to slide or lift the casing off.
Take note of the keypads, some players need the keypads to be pressed down and rotated to allow the casing to be removed without damage.

2) The safest way to theme a player would be to first extract your firmware, theme it with new screen images, then re-flashing it back into the player.
However, since your current version is not yet supported by the firmware extraction tool S1fwx, you can't extract a working firmware dump yet. Without this dump, you can't safely theme your player.

Also, do not flash in someone's themed firmware, as it would most likely brick your player if you do so.

3) If you can't locate the Greek language in your player, then you can't do anything about it. Also, you can't add in any plugins as the player was not designed to accept any plugins.

It`s like an MP3 Player which plays Music CDs only.

djkokalis,

20 hrs to copy 2GB of data is not normal at all. What I suggest is try connecting your player into ANOTHER computer. It might be computer related. If that is still slow, then try another USB cable if you have one that is similar.

These players don't do multitasking, so that explains why you can't do something else while you are listening to music.

3 and a half hours sounds normal. Are you listenin to music non-stop durin that time? What you can do is change the display setting to go black when you are listening to music. This will save battery, simliar to a laptop going into a black screen if you are not using it for awhile to save battery.

Don't try another firmware as it will most likely 'kill' your player and will void a possible chance to get your replaced.

Definately try another computer and USB cable if you can as it shouldn't take that long to transfer 2GB of data. Have you formatted your player?

You should act on this fast as if it's a fault, then you can probably get a refund or replacement for the USB issue.

djkokalis , i'll suggest uxcell.com for mp4 players. They have both 2GB and 4GB, and the memories are not hacked.

Battery life is generally the same for all mp4 players, about 3-4hours average.

djkokalis , purchasing from ebay has it's pros and cons. Pros are they are much cheaper, and a wider variety. Cons are many of them are hacked, and bad warranty issues.

i'll suggest that you read the Blacklist section of the forum and if one of the sellers you want to buy from is listed there, stay away from him/her. Also, there are a few recommended ebay sellers listed in there who sells legit players.
