well Andrew Z. if you go after the firmware version 9.1.52 only then there are hundred of firmwares which match this basic requirment(9.1.52).Try to refine your search by opening your player and see it's main chip which is mostly next to HYNIX and then under that chip catergory search your fimware.If you checked your firmware before it is dead and it is just saying that 9.1.52 then my guess is that your main chip is ACU7515,confirm your main chip and try to find the board number or plate number and things like that and then search for the firmware.

i have succesfully recovered my dead mp3 player used short circuit, chipset ATJ 2051W but now my screen LCD blank, although it can play music normally. am i doing something wrong? can someone help me how to make my screen LCD work normal? so i can see the menu?

i use firmware 3.5.35, what is the different with firmware 3.5.37?

Hello! I am new here, and I started to like this site a LOT.

My mp4 is DEAD. I have bought it, plugged it in PC, copied some music, unplugged it, and voila- hourglass of death!

I have read the instructions, but I didn't do the dissasembling trick, I just went to the "red" part. The device is Actions USB 2.0 HS WinUSB device. So, is this that fancy ADFU?

Anyways, the AdfuUpdate.inf worked PERFECTLY. ANd there goes the update. Run the Firmare Upgrade tool, with like 5 firmware, none is okay. So, can someone geive me some help?

But, what's bothering me? All firmwares have in their specs that battery type is alkaline 1,5V. But mine is rechargeable 3,8V. Is this going to work??

And where can I find the dump file for firmware when there is only one, .fw file? Backing up my firmware (which i probably do NOT have on my mp4 at he moment) is, obviously, not an option.

I can't see my player in Explorer. Hourglass is displaying, no matter what firmware do I try to install.

I have an OEM KG216 that I tried to put new firmware on (from the CD provided) but I think I bricked my player. It flashes on and off and is non-responsive to the buttons or the reset button. The player wont stay on long enough for my computer to recognize there is anything in the USB. Before I completely void any warranty by opening it up, will this process work for me? why did you flash it? if you have warranty, go to your store.

OK, found the firmware. But I can't upgrade! I can't click the Upgrade Button in Upgrade tool! MP4 is recognised as an ADFU device, but I can't see it in explorer!

This I think it's the Plate Number.
But I can't find the screen number.
I have to mention that it's a mp4 with 1.8 inch screen, it's got some kind of touch butons...and it's got another button on the side witch powers it on, and blocks the buttons...
I would fall in love with the one that helps me bring my mp4 back to life.

After turning on shows only clepsydra. windows see him as USB 2.0 (HS) ADFU Device but in explorer theres any removable discs.
When run MP3 Player Upgrade tool (ver 4.18 and 5.09) nothing happens, device firmware information is blank

what shall I do to fix this??

I accidentaly pulled cable while trying to upgrade f/w (just for themes using s1res (export), mostly it's unsucessful), and now all the time I got sandclock , nothing else, good that pc recognises it as unknown device (also Actions USB 2.0 (HS) Winusb device).. I pop- up mp3 upgrade tool RdiskUpdate, but it won't show device..
What to do now? D:
