jukeboxjunki , go to Control Panel, and click on System.

In it, select the Hardware tab, then click on Device Manager.

Now you should see a list of hardware items connected to your computer. Look for the player, it should be highlighted with a yellow exclamation mark.
Right click on it and select Properties.
A new box should open. Now select the Details tab and in the drop down box, chose Device Instance Id.

What does the box below it display after you selected it?

jukeboxjunki , try using the ADFU files here http://www.savefile.com/files/1205168

Select the player under the device manager, right click and chose update driver. Then use ADFUupdate.inf file that i've provided. See if it can now install the driver properly.

and you will have in MY COMPUTER 3 new partition removeble
now create one new directory in your desktop from your computer,
where to make back-up your software from this new partition, (just in cases)
after you make this backup

Always BACKUP the existing firmware of your player before attempting to update
the firmware on your mp4 player. Updating your mp4 player with the wrong or
incorrect firmware will result in a DEAD PLAYER and it not booting up at all!
Always be sure that you use the correct firmware for your mp4 player only.
Updating your firmware will NOT provide you with any extra features.
It's really intended as a resource and 'backup' should the firmware on your mp4
player becomes corrupt.

copy this files after the description:
from the "partition 1" in the first of this partition
from the "partition 2" in the second partition
from the "partition 3" in the 3th partition.

Hi, my MP4 player is finally showing a blue screen that says "USB Disk" and device manager shows it as "ANYKAUSB Nand Opn Zone USB Device". I'm trying to install the ADFU driver so i can install the firmware but WinXP won't let me. So I'm pretty much stuck. Can anyone help me resolve this so I can get my player up and running again? MP3 Tool can't find it. Thanks Rolling Eyes

cunfusled73, you should check this thread: http://mympxplayer.org/mp4-players-anyka-chip-re-updated--vt6847.html

Ankya players are a totally different breed from Actions ones, therefore they can't be recovered using this guide.

TUANAS, except of trying every 9.1.x firmware here, there's not much to try.

TUANAS , what you'll need to do is to try all the v9.xx firmwares here http://www.mympxplayer.org/actions-9xx-firmware-dc37.html

As there is no way to tell which firmware would work with your player, you'll need to try all those for your screen size until you get a working one. Good luck.

After a good week of struggling, I found on a Polish website the RIGHT firmware to recover my ATJ 2091N -based Monochrome 2GB MP3 Player with FM radio. This firmware is NOT YET present in your Downloads, so you can add it if you find this useful (I don't know how to do it by myself)!

This is this one:

If you find a way to modify the HORRIBLE boot splash screen, please let me know Wink

Please help: I can get my player to appear as an ADFU device, but I'm a little confused on how to get the firmware I downloaded actually onto it. Any advice as to how I flash this ADFU device and get it to start registering as a normal USB drive would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
