Does anyone know which firmware will work for this player? The number on the back of the "mother board" is:
BO-018*
**2007*01*28VER: C**

It has a 1GB samsung memory chip, number:
Samsung 722
K9G8GO8UOM
PCBO
FEE217PAC

The middle size chip (the chipset, I believe):
ACU7503
G2023CA 528
Specifications here

It plays AMV movies.

It was bought from hailitele on ebay.

See pictures and more details here

Thanks,
kallek

I asked the ebay seller (hailitele) for the firmware to the player, telling him that the player is stuck in the hour-glass mode. He replied that this was due to a complete loss of system power. I suppose he means that the battery has been completely drained. He claims that this can only be fixed through resetting by the manufacturer.

Does this make sense to anyone? Or, should it be regarded as equally true as his claim about 8GB memory?

He did not send the firmware, and I'm not going to spend $ 40 on shipping for a hacked player.

Thanks,
kallek

Thanks greg77,
Unfortunately, it didn't work. I loaded frimware 9.0.50, and the player showed the appropriate signs of life. I loaded the dump.bin, and it died. Bad luck.
Do you know where to down load firmware 9.1.51?

Thanks,
kallek

greg77, if you downloaded that firmware from your player with s1fwx it will be incomplete and won't work in any mp4 player. I doubt it even got accepted by the mp3 update utility.

kallek, hailitele is full of cr@p. The player died most likely due to it being hacked. You'll have to try all the 9.x.xx firmwares. Don't try to load firmware thats higher than 9.0.43 if it's been extracted with s1fwx. It could do more damage than good.

It not possible to extract 'just the firmware' from players using versions above 9.0.43. That includes 9.0.48. 9.0.50, 9.0.51. 9.1.50 and 9.1.51... S1clone is only used to copy the entire flash chip contents of one player to another identical player.

It would seem that they allowed the utility to format thier player before they extracted an image of the flash chip making it easier to compress. Therefore the end result is smaller. BUT like i said... the resulting file will still only work with an identical player.

The smaller files on that page are either incomplete or full firmwares obained from the players manufacturer.

Odyssey, do you have any further comments regarding Kalleks first problem...

Perhaps Kallek if he/she fixed it would like to explain how this was done.

I too have experienced the exact same problem.

I'm sorry, no progress here. The player is still dead.

But, could someone explain the relationship between the full firmware, and the dump.bin? I loaded the full firmware (both 9.0.48 & 9.0.50) and the player showed signs of life, but did not boot. (I understand this as these two versions were not the exactly correct for the player. ) After the full firmware, I loaded the dump.bin, and the player died.
If I have the correct dump.bin does it somehow patch an inexact, full firmware?
And, if I can get the dump.bin from one of these players, will it work with the above mentioned firmware versions?

Thanks,
kallek
