I seriously doubt s1fwx extracted v9.0.50 from your player... at least in full.
For all fw version 9.0.48 and above, s1fwx DOES create a file, however that file is always incomplete because s1fwx can't access certain parts of the flash chip.
To prove my point, try repairing it or try loading it into s1res to be edited. If you get a "unknown file type" or similar message, then your firmware is useless.

I would be iterested to know how? As I have tried it! and loads of data were missing even so, the program said it was succesful.

I tend to agree with Odyssey

Try s1Clone instead.

It is used to clone s1mp3 players including 9.X.XX players.

You can also have a read at this post here: http://www.mympxplayer.org/s1clone-released-to-backup-firmware-on-9xxx-series-players-vp31300.html.

"The topic or post you requested does not exist"

I have read that s1clone is thought to be unsure when creating clones, and there are possibilities that what it clones may not be functional.

as u said he may used s1clone to make backup of 9.0.5.0 firmware, but i wannna to inform u that many times i have tried s1clone latest version for this purpose n some times it says that "SEMAPHOIRE REQUEST TIME OUT" this time it may be that i misspell but each time i get a msg like this way.

when u try to write a firmware on a player, ur PC get s restarted automatically without any warning. i have faced this problem many times, after facing all the problem i comes to knew that there s nothing which can extract or write firmware 9.0.5.0 or above lavel

my firmware is

I have used S1Cone V1.1 to extract 9.0.50, and this seemed to work OK. However, when I attempted to use the extracted file to restore an identical dead player, also using the S1Clone software, it resulted in a system blue screen crash of Windows. Before crashing, the software warned me that the players were not identical, but I believe that they are, so not sure where the problem lies.

Hi -
I have the same issues with my 9.0.50. player, which is dead at the moment.

I have a fully s1clone backup, but when trying to flash it back to the player, my windows crashes ans restart without a warning (tried xp and vista).

regards
christian

You never update a working player with another version of firmware EVER. There are too many different players out there with many different versions of firmware. If you use another version it will most likely kill your player.

If it is working fine... leave it alone.

I hope that new fw can have better features such has volume adjust during video playback. But if I search a newer fw after 9.0.50 isn't suggested to update?

No.

Actions chipsets aren't like that. Theres really no such thing as 'better' or 'new features'. Updating a higher version will kill your player because it's a version that IS NOT MEANT to be for your player. I can tell you that you won't get any new features by attempting to change the firmware. Just a dead player. Each firmware is unique to it's player. It was made for one specific player only.

Simply, Actions chipsets firmware is not to be 'updated'.

Just do a search on how many people have killed thier players by trying to 'update' thier firmware. There are thousands.. maybe tens of thousands of them.

Just don't do it... it's not worth the pain.
