I'm proud to announce the first homebrew game for the SPMP305x! It's nothing special, just a pong-clone, but it comes with full source. Download it at http://spmp305x.spritesserver.nl/mp4-pong/ ; the .zip contains the compiled binary, the .tgz has all the source-files licensed under the GNU GPL v3.
If you want to help to decypher the secrets of this chip, please go to http://spmp305x.spritesserver.nl/ and add where you can, or subscribe to the mailing list. Together, we should be able to get the amount of unemulated games available for this chip well above the 20-ish we have now. |

hi there...is there anyone has successfully upgraded their spmp3050a?
i got this version of pmp also:
when i browsed its AIMG on the skin i noticed that there are icons that were not available on actual runtime, just like the fm radio, date and time setting,etc... does that mean my pmp has a built-in fm radio?or none?is it posible to enable the missing icons?... |

FM and RTC (real-time clock) is dependant on the actual hardware contents of the device. Yours probably just doesn't have the FM-board and the RTC-chip built-in. |

Nice job Sprite_tm. I wish I could test it :-/
I upped the usb poking tool to
http://blld.org/spmp305x/tools/spmp3050a_usb-0.1.tar.bz2 . Currently only supports Linux. I have Windows version that compiles using lcc but it's on another computer. To use this tool, you have to first make the device re-enumerate(*) itself using FRM pro. In this process FRM pro uploads something to the device and initiates a re-enumeration process. In this process it just disconnects from usb bus and reappears as ready to use.
Getting rsv info for instance is enough to make this happen.
Under Linux, VirtualBox should be a good choice. usbmon is great for looking at usb traffic.
As I said earlier, you can find the register names in FRM Pro installation folder.
* there is some question whether this could be considered as same process defined in usb spec. |

Create disk image A --- FAILED! ---
Create disk image B --- FAILED! ---
Waiting for creating Card ISP ...
Create Card ISP failed!
AND ALSO...
how do i check my players firmware VERSION
i want to mod my player with my own firmware files....i used vdk to explore AIMG and i have a few ideas...
after i have modified the files how do i het it back to the single file aimg format and how do i upload just the aimg file to my player....??? |

(Forgive for my English) At me the same player as on 1 page, but chip SPMP3052A,
Games NES work well, GB, GBC, BIN - the player them sees but they are not started, in what there can be a reason?, at me was not radio, but I have soldered in radio SP3767AHN block, and it
Has appeared in the menu, thus an insertion did not change, on payment SK612B-070811 does not suffice much
Details, I think that if them to solder in, there will be new functions, but I do not have scheme of this player, can at whom there is a scheme lay out or a payment photo. |

can you upload your firmware somewhere like rapidshare etc. ?
most probably you have an mp4 player like mine, which still runs very bad with non-compatible firmware..
please...
BTW, the main part list is:
CPU SPMP3052A-HL171, Board PMP-704-V21.00, TFT screen T-0028-A and camera XHB 7030
How did you manage to solder in a new chip and where? We need extensive info on this as well ! |

I could not place here a photo, have loaded it on http://depositfiles.com/files/6566468,
On my player motherboard SK612B-070811, I took the radio receiver block on chip SP3767, from the broken Chinese player (I think will go from any Chinese player where there is a radio receiver) after that have soldered in in the player, as is shown in a photo, and the radio receiver has appeared in the menu, works well! |

Hi!
I have this player http://blurried.free.fr/PMP/SPMP3050A.jpg
I've extracted the firmware and in aimg have a 3050ABin0.bin file
When I examine this file with a hex editor I find a lot of references to a internal libraries. The strange thing is that a lot of this have the same name of windows libraries and, internaly, the mem (internal and expanded by SD) are referenced like unit C: and D:!!!
May be a windows/DOS like SO???
Definitly is not an unix derivate!
PD: A: and B: are the aimg and bimg and C: and D: are the internal and sd mem
PD2: some internal calls ARE VERY SIMILAR to a Visual Basic file edited in hex form
PD3: There are some references to C too
PD4: ...mmm...definitely is C!! |

There was some gameking(?) review that had snes support enabled. In short:
-not fast enough to emulate at full speed
-not enough buttons |
