Very familar picture. From a certain ebay seller promoting his/her 2x2GB player.
Great.. the next hottest thing would be the fake 16GB and 30GB players. Although i've seen the fake 60GB once. |

they should make those nano clones just a lil thicker. that way they could have another layer of 2gb chips |

Well well,, a 'genuine' one.....
All this means is that loads more folk will get suckered because these DO exist..(They have ALWAYS been available,, just not at the prices WE pay)..
The golden rule should ALWAYS be that despite a couple of iffy examples.. 4Gig players do NOT exist! IF a dealer has genuine ones available, they should have the IQ to advertise the fact and PROVE that these have dual chips.. but I suspect that this minor achievment of selling a genuine player, will simply make the selling of dodgy ones even easier. |

elomda99 , it is possible to change your original 128MB to a 2GB chip. However, you will need to take note of the original 128MB chip's pinouts, get the datasheet for it.
The new 2GB chip needs to have the same exact pinouts as the 128MB's.
More information on swapping the chip can be found here http://wiki.s1mp3.org/index.php/How_to_add/change_a_memory_chip |

@ daveislander
The genuine 4GB players are not necessarily 2 Chips!!
As of now, both the options are available - 2 x 2GB, and 1 x 4GB.
The 2 x 2 is more popular with wholesale customers as it is about $5 cheaper.
