Recieved my Glacier today after buying direct from Uxcell. After playing with pre loaded stuff, I tried loading a bunch of MP3s.
Noticed that I had empty folders, not all folders were reported on the player, when I viewed them in Windows, noted corrupt filenames. Tried deleting folders using Windows, was unable to delete due to reported corruption.
Found the guide to removing memory hack (http://www.mympxplayer.org/how-to-removing-memory-hack-vt2400.html) and ran through this.
The player initially stated 2GB at the Step 2 "Partition and Encrypt" stage. But when I moved the slider all the way to the right, reported significantly less (probably 103 GB) but did not make a note. Proceded anyway and followed the rest of the guide up to and including step 3. Great Guide by the way. Player now reports 103 MB as does Windows. Guess this means a memory size issue (hacked memory?).
I have reported this to Uxcell and am awaiting a reply.
I am disapointed that I have had problems especially as I was due to take advantage of the 10% off voucher (which expires tonight) and order further items if the Glacier order was OK. Obviously, until this is resolved I shall not be ordering anything further.
NOTE: on reporting problems, initially reported this on the contacts section of the Uxcell site, I guess this was the wrong way to report issues. On the site there is no mention of contacting
info@uxcell.com (issue has now been reported to this address). Thankfully I had found this site when researching MP3 players and found the address here (great site BTW). Perhaps Uxcell should add the email address to the contacts section on the Uxcell site.
On a positive note, the Glacier looks great, has a bright screen, sound quality is good for a cheap player (limited testing due to problems but pleased so far). Not tested the supplied headphones (I use Sennheiser CX300s - get some, do your ears a favour). Supplied video slightly choppy and bad lip sync, however better than I expected at this price. No sign of battery seating issues. Included game was a Tetris type clone.
Ordering and delivery was within the stated 14 days from Uxcell and they provided prompt feedback when I queried my order.
Apologies for the length of this post.
