sratra,
The sad part is that most people only read the forum after they have bought a hacked player.

If you have installed the ADFU driver then your player will not show in windows but it should be detected by the upgrade tool and be in recovery mode.

Hello,
One week ago I received a mp3/mp4 player bought on Ebay.
It was enable to play fully all the videos I've converted with the "on CD" software. I decided to change software version : same thing, So I decided to change firmware, that killed my player ...
I've discovered this topic, (thanks for help tada 1), made several tries, but now my player is always recognised as a ADFU driver, and does not appear as a disk , the update manager says it's impossible to read/write on it.
Even ubuntu doesn't recognise it as a disk.
Is there any solution ?

FrenchUser, If your player is recognised as an ADFU Device it is recovery mode and will only accept a full version firmware which you can download from HERE Once you load the full firmware it should be recognised as a removable drive and you should be able to load firmware dumps.

Thank you Tada1 !!!
My Player came back to life.
But there is a little problem : It is recognized as a 1 GB instead of a 4 GB disk, and it's still imposible to watch full video.
You can have one beer : Go THERE and ask a beer.

FrenchUser, Very Happy that is the best beer I have been sent.
The reason it is 1GB is because it was a hacked chip, these players can only support a maximum 2GB nand Flash Memory. Killing your player , formatting and reflashing has removed the hack and the chips true size is now shown.

To confirm this you can check the serial number of the memory chip against this list HERE

Now what problems are you having with video?
What size is your player screen?
What version of MP3 Player Utilities are you using?

sratra, You could try a different full version then the dump again, but my guess is the dump is for a player with a different screen type or board variation.

LSGmp4, Whilst your players layout and design may be different to the one used in the guide the method and process are still the same for all Action chipset players.
