As noted in the title, it appears to be an Actions 2025 with 9.5.54 firmware. The case is shaped like a 3rd gen iPod Nano and it comes with 8GB of actual(confirmed, not fake) memory on a single chip.
Also as noted, the board is stamped QS20K21_B-KEY V0.3.
The memory and firmware appear to be intact, but it won't play any files; every option besides the Radio and Setup makes it display "Disk Error".
I believe it has to do with a directory issue, but since I formatted it, I can't seem to get them right.
Other than that, I have no clue why it won't detect files.
Could someone either post compatible firmware(I don't mind downgrading) or a directory listing for these or similar players? |

Same chipset, same layout -- the only difference is the screen faceplate doesn't have any marking on it, which means someone else is selling these. That's a good thing, because like the 16GB model you pointed to, this one also has a confirmed 8GB.
Now, as far as the Disk Error is concerned, I traced it down to the "Online Mode" setting. In Normal, the flash is a single partition of 7.97GB, but the firmware installed on the chipset can't detect it(it's almost like it's out of scope; ie: it should be partition 1 instead of partition 0).
In "Multi Disk", the player works perfectly -- the only caveat being that it won't work unless the first(main) partition is resized to 17MB. This leaves the other 7.8GB to the "Encrypted" partition, which does me no good.
I've already tried resizing the partitions, as well as formatting the flash in every way possible, to both FAT and FAT32.
It seems to be a really bad firmware issue, but I have yet to find firmware that is compatible. |

If it is the same layout, then does it have two 4GB (*BG* in the part#) flashes, or one 8GB (*CG*)?
What version of MP3 Player Utilities are you using to format/resize the partitions?
Has this device ever worked properly before?
I strongly recommend you attempt to extract the firmware with s1res and keep it as a backup. |

It's a single 8GB.
I've only tried MP3 Player Utilities v1 and 3, as I've only been working with the tools from the disc, up until now.
The device has never worked properly, from what I can tell. I formatted it before I ever got a chance to test it, but I doubt this would've caused a problem.
As far as the firmware is concerned, it's version 9, making it impossible to extract with most of the s1 tools. S1Clone and S1Res both say "Semaphore timed out" when I try. If I were able to do it, I would've already submitted them to the Downloads, as they seem to be non-existent right now.
EDIT: If it helps any, this is what mydigit.cn has on it: http://bbs.mydigit.cn/read.php?tid=89696. Also, the manufacturer is LAN En Electronics and the OEM model number is Le-D1002 or Le-D1004: http://momentlp.en.ec21.com/Le_D1002--3165832_3165926.html |

Hi, Did you figure anything out?
I have the same type of player..
Firmware 9.5.54
And Actions Ak2025
Never seen it before & not much info about it on the net..Your post was the first one i could find in English.LOL
Still trying to remove the memory hack..already used the Mp3 disk tool in several versions with the same results.. Windows always detects it at 7.87GB or there abouts..
2 Drives pop up after I do the Partition/Encrypt
F: says 17.31mb and J: says 3.96 GB roughly..Do the format and windows reads it as 7.87GB again...shouldn't it read actual memory?? which I think is the 3.96GB or less...
This thing must be hacked to death.LOL Can't even find much info on the Hynix chip
h27uaG8t2mtr -BC ( I think it's 8bit or somewhere around 1GB ...if so, I'd like to remove the hack altogether so I can enjoy what ever real memory is on there without any problems.
any help..ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks but that disc tool did the same thing as the rest...
On opening the disc tool it reads the drive F: as having 4072.31mb memory capacity.
When I hit Partition/Encryption it states under Partition total disc capacity 8170MB when I slide the bar all the way to the right it states 8153MB the top partition capacity stays at 8170mb
after P/E is finished drive F: pops up and under properties it tells me I have FAT 17.2 mb
I slide the bar all the way to the left & upon completion the drive F: appears again as FAT32 with 3.96GB
I right click drive F: and select Format from the list...when the format screen opens it states Capacity at 7.97GB & file system is FAT32
Windows is still picking it up as an 8GB player & when I check the players memory info from the player menu it reads 0% used of 00 M
Formatting it doesn't change the memory info from within the players menu..it just changes the 3.96GB back to 7.97GB
Removing the hack doesn't seem to work...or I'm doing something wrong in my steps..
What I don't understand is why it would show up as FAT32 and then FAT????? When I use an earlier version of the MP3 Disc tool 3.57 for example..When I do the Partition/Encryption process 2 drives appear F: & J: .....F: has the 17.2MB in FAT & J: has the 3.96GB in FAT32
If anyone has any ideas as to what is going on besides the obvious Hacked memory it would be greatly appreciated..

The existing versions of player utilities are confused by the new chip and probably the flash as well. You need to find a very new version for these players. If I remember correctly 3.xx dates back to the ATJ2085 days. |

anyone find anything out on these yet??
My problem is there are 2 partitions on the Mp3 player I guess..1 of the partitions has the HACK along with th rest of my usuable memory.
2 drives appear when I plug it in.
Drive F: is in FAT & Drive J: is in FAT32
I would assume both need to be in same format.
When I try to format drive F: from FAT to FAT32 all I can choose is FAT and NTFS..
In order for me to have access to the actual memory I need to have both in the same format..any ideas??
Thanks

You will have to extract the existing firmware from it first before trying anything else. |

Already extracted the dump.bin from it lolita..
I have 3 here with the exact same specs.. All 3 are giving me the same problems after completing the 'How to remove memory hack guide"
17.2mb on one drive 4GB on the other both are in different formats.. can't get them both in the same format ( F &J in FAT NO! F&J in FAT32 NO!) one says too big for FAT the other says too small for FAT32..
So I'm stuck at this cross road & seriously considering jumping the shit out of all 3 on the floor..LOL
I've googled the shit out of this & have tried million and 1 things..no luck..
If I extract the firmware like you suggested. What's my next step? reloading firmware from a different source??
Do you think all of the problems are firmware & hack related?
Some professional insight on this would be greatly appreciated..I need a little spoon feeding here guys! waaa waa LOL |
